Lewis Hamilton has told reporters that he believes he is stronger than ever, as he gets ready to take part in the Russian Grand Prix. The British racer will be heading into the event with a 40-point lead over his main rival, Ferrari’s Sebastain Vettel, and Hamilton is confident that he and his team will see victory at the Sochi track.
There are six events left in the F1 world championship, and Hamilton is leading by a large margin. He has won four out of the last five races he participated in, and will be starting in Russia after a strong win at the Singapore Grand Prix.
Hamilton is looking to secure his fifth F1 title, and his fourth title win with his current team, Mercedes. But he’s also emphasised that he’s still constantly pushing the other drivers in his team, saying that all of them are stuck in their ways, and it’s been difficult for them to change.
Last year’s Russian Grand Prix took place earlier in the season than normal, and Hamilton ended the event in fourth place after fighting with his tyres and providing a sub-par performance that has been radically different to the driving that he’s done so far this season.
Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel is also hoping to take the title for himself, but he would need to win the next six upcoming events in order to gain a point-lead over Hamilton, but the driver remains determined.
