Nick Kyrgios has survived his career-lull and can safely be said to be back in the game after a difficult 2019. The player has managed to climb the ATP Rankings back up to No. 20 after dropping down to No. 52 last year.
His campaign is off to a great start after he reached the fourth round of the Australian Open Tennis tournament, and his good work is continuing off the court, too. He has raised more than AU$90 000 for bushfire relief after pledging AU$200 for every ace he made during the Grand Slam and he will continue to do this over the summer.
Kyrgios also participated in Rally for Relief alongside fellow players Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer, and Serena Williams, to raise money for those affected by the fires that devastated so much of Australia. They collected almost AU$5 million.
Kyrgios commented that playing Tennis has never been a problem for him but he has had to tend to some issues in his life outside of the game. He said that he has gained a lot of perspective in the past few months and that he is committed to staying on the right path going forward.
When asked about his current good form, he simply expressed hope that he can keep doing it. He said that he is taking things day by day at the moment and trying to make sure he brings a positive attitude to everything.
