Teams Gearing Up for ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier

The ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier in 2017 sees 10 teams through to this stage of the competition. With everything to play for teams will be making the most of these upcoming matches and will be sure to put their best foot forward as the competition at this level is something that each and every team needs to take heed of.

The 10 teams will be divided into 2 groups of 5 teams. These matches start on February 7th 2017 and will run until the 13th , after which the top 6 will compete in the Super Six Stage. The top 2 teams from there will then meet in the finals.

Groupings

The 4 bottom teams of the ICC Women’s Championship are currently India, South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They have been divided and placed into the different groups as follows: India and Sri Lanka have been placed into Group A with Ireland, Thailand or Zimbabwe. The matches set thus far for February are Sri Lanka vs India and Ireland vs Zimbabwe on the 7th, Srilanka vs Ireland and India vs Thailand on the 8th, India vs Ireland and Thailand vs Zimbabwe on the 10th, Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe and Ireland vs Thailand on the 11th and finally, Zimbabwe vs India and Sri Lanka vs Thailand on the 13th.

Group B sees South Africa and Pakistan being placed with Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea and Scotland. The matches for this group run concurrently with Group A and are: South africa vs Pakistan and Bangladesh vs Papua New Guinea on the 7th, Pakistan vs Bangladesh and Scotland vs South Africa on the 8th, Papua New Guinea vs Pakistan and Bangladesh vs Scotland onthe 10th, South Africa vs Bangladesh and Scotland vs Papua New Guinea on the 11th and South Africa vs Papua New Guinea as well as Pakistan vs Scotland on the 13th.

After these epic  match ups the Super Six stage will commence, and the top 6 teams will head towards the finals.
