The 2016 Peters Investments-Kingston Town Classic Day race is shaping up to be an exciting Group 1 racing event. The race takes place on the Saturday the 3rd of December at Ascot Racecourse in Perth. This week, the final field and the barrier draw was conducted for the race with a few favourites looking to capitalise on the gate placements.

Perfect Reflection, the 2015 winner had to settle for third place in the Group 1 Railway Stakes behind Scales of Justice a few weeks ago. As a firm favourite for the Kingston Classic race, Perfect reflection drew Barrier 2 significantly increase the chances of a win.

Scales of Justice Draws Barrier 16

Having won the Group 1 Railway Stakes on the 19th of November, Scales of Justice will attempt to compete for the double with Douglas Whyte in the saddle. This involves winning both the Group 1 Railways stakes and the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic. The barrier draw was not as kind to Scales of Justice with the runner having drawn the dreaded gate 16 much to the dismay of many punters. The other leading contenders for the Kingston Classic include Stratum Star in barrier 1 and Kawi in barrier four. Good Project who was runner up in the Railway Stakes drew barrier 5.
